Organizations are increasingly concerned about the privacy of information that they manage (as witnessed, for example, by lawsuits filed against organizations for violating the privacy of customer's data). Thus, the management of privacy-sensitive information is very critical and important for every organization. This poses several challenging problems, such as how to translate the high-level business goals into system-level privacy policies, administration of privacy-sensitive data, privacy preserving data integration and engineering, privacy preserving access control mechanisms, information-oriented security, and query execution on privacy-sensitive data for partial answers. Starting from these observations, the aim of DPM is to discuss and exchange ideas related to data privacy management DPM 2018 is the thirteenth workshop in this series and will be held in Barcelona, Spain, in conjunction with the 23rd European Symposium On Research in Computer Security (ESORICS 2018). The workshop will be a 1.5-day event, featuring technical presentations of 11 full papers and 5 short papers, and one keynote speech from Sarah Meiklejohn (University College London). == REGISTRATION Registration is to be done through the ESORICS registration system. Information is available at https://esorics2018.upc.edu/registration.do == PROGRAM The workshop program is available at http://deic.uab.cat/conferences/dpm/dpm2018/program.html == KEYNOTE We are glad to announce that DPM will feature a keynote speech (joint with other ESORICS workshops) from Sarah Meiklejohn. Keynote Title: "Anonymity in Cryptocurrencies" More information on the keynote speech is available at http://deic.uab.cat/conferences/dpm/dpm2018/keynote.html == MORE INFORMATION Additional information about the workshop can be found at: http://deic.uab.cat/conferences/dpm/dpm2018/ From madhavan at cmi.ac.in Sun Aug 19 21:25:30 2018 From: madhavan at cmi.ac.in (Madhavan Mukund) Date: Sun, 19 Aug 2018 21:25:30 +0530 Subject: [FM-India] Post-doc positions at NUS Message-ID: <20180819155530.znsjehmulq45dkdr@cmi.ac.in> ----- Forwarded message ----- From: Abhik Roychoudhury Sent: Sunday, August 19, 2018 2:01 PM Subject: Post-doc positions at NUS --------------------Senior Research Fellow position or Research Fellow position---------------------- Applications are invited for several post-doc positions at the National Satellite of Excellence on Trustworthy Systems at the National University of Singapore. Big Data is an emerging paradigm applied to datasets whose volume/velocity/variability is beyond the ability of commonly used software tools to manage and process the data within a tolerable period of time. More importantly, Big Data has to be of high value, and should be protected in an efficient way. Since Big Data involves a huge amount of data that is of high-dimensionality and inter-linkage, existing trust, security, and privacy measures for traditional databases and infrastructures cannot satisfy its requirements. Novel technologies for protecting Big Data are attracting researchers and practitioners with more and more attention. Scope and Interests TrustData2018 is a part of SpaCCS 2018 (http://www.swinflow.org/confs/2018/spaccs/index.htm), 11th International Conference on Security, Privacy and Anonymity in Computation, Communication and Storage. Perez) Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2018 15:32:35 +0200 Subject: [FM-India] PhD position on Concurrency, Logic, and Type Systems. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: PHD POSITION ON “CONCURRENCY, LOGIC, AND TYPE SYSTEMS“ University of Groningen, The Netherlands (Posted: August 31, 2018) We are searching for one four-year PhD position on the topics of concurrency, logic, type systems, and programming languages. You will contribute to rigorously comparing different type systems for message-passing programs, such as session types. These comparisons will use as reference a correspondence known as "propositions as sessions", which connects concurrency and logic in the style of the well-known Curry-Howard correspondence. We will use the resulting comparisons to streamline existing type systems, and to guide the development of verification tools for message-passing programs. Your PhD research will be embedded in the project "Unifying Correctness for Communicating Software", a VIDI career grant recently awarded to Dr. Jorge A. Pérez by the NWO (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research). As such, you will join a dynamic, quickly growing research group; within the project, you will collaborate with national and international research partners. - Qualifications You have an MSc degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Logic, Mathematics, or Artificial Intelligence, and experience in one or more of the following: • Semantics of programming languages • Program verification, type systems, and/or typed programming languages • Concurrency theory and/or process calculi • The Curry-Howard isomorphism ("propositions as types") • Modal/substructural logics and (their) proof theory Female candidates are encouraged to apply. - Application and Additional Information For further details on the position and the application procedure, please visit https://www.rug.nl/about-us/work-with-us/job-opportunities/overview?details=00347-02S0006KOP For further information and expressions of interest, contact Jorge A. Pérez (j.a.perez at rug.nl). See also http://www.jperez.nl/vidi You may apply until 1 October 23:59h / before 2 October 2018 (Dutch local time). -- Jorge A.
